Windows 10: App that opens multiple windows stops running after closing a child window while using an...

Ever since installing Windows Update KB 5005611, some apps that open multiple windows will close completely whenever I close one of the “child” windows created by the app. The main app is not supposed to stop running when closing one of its child windows. This problem didn’t occur prior to installing the update, and it also only seems to occur while using an input method editor IME.

  Right click on the task bar.

  From the jump menu select Show all windows side by side.
