Windows 10: Apple Mobile Device Driver not In Device Manager or Services

Win 10 - Ipod classic.


I cannot sync my ipod. All the apple help and various links do not help - There is an assumption that the Apple Mobile Services is available either in the USB (device mgr), the program list or the Services section - neither of these are the case for me. I have just installed iTunes from the Microsoft store - uploaded music from CD - connected my ipod classic - The ipod charges but does not get recognised as anything. It doesn't show as anything at all !.


Before you all moan about the ipod - I'm not going to buy another as I have the Bose sound dock and nothing newer fits its dock.


Please list steps as I'm not a computer whiz like most of you. Thanks in advance - I know there are others with the same problem on a closed thread that have this issue unresolved.

Apple Mobile Device USB Driver unable to install

Try this:

Right-click the Apple Mobile Device entry in Device Manager>Universal Serial Bus controllers and choose Update Driver Software.

• Select "Browse my computer for driver software."

• Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."

• Click the Have Disk button. Note: If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and then click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.

• Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.

• Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.

Apple Mobile Device Ethernet

how are you guys doing, so my question is rather interesting or at least i think so. Well so the question is my friend has a Asus gaming laptop and in device manager under Network adapters is "Apple Mobile Device Ethernet"... and my friend wants to know if he can uninstaill it, and well frankly I can't find anything on google. So it wouldn't affect anything if i take it off would it?

If Apple Mobile Device service is not appearing in the Services Utility, you should re-install iTunes which will in turn re-install that service . .
