Minecraft Windows 10 (Bedrock) Edition desktop icon dissapears. Where is the Minecraft icon file?

I dragged the Minecraft Windows 10 Edition icon from the Start Menu to the desktop, so I had a shortcut to the Minecraft Windows 10 (Bedrock) Edition. The icon will appear on the shortcut for a while, but then it magically disappears. This issue started
after the Fall Creators Update, v1709. Where is the exe or icon file for Minecraft Windows 10 edition? The Target field in the shortcut is grayed out, and it will not let you copy it.

Just means that the .exe's are associated with some other program. Go to Default Programs in the Control panel and reset that app setting. FCU had nothing to do with this.

Still doesnt work. Or can i search what application that using that icon?
I already searched through entire app, but found nothing. is there something else i can do?
the app if executed was fine, but with that icon, it's kinda annoy me to look at.

And i just found, date modified in all exe is the same with the date where i updated FCU.

No app associates an .exe as a file type it can open. An exe is a program.

Perhaps something changed your .exe from Whatever.exe to Whatever.exe.abc and associated the .abc. Try turning off "Hide known file name extensions" in File Explorer options.

Are you sure it is all of them?

Have a look at (for example) C:\Windows\Notepad.exe

I don't think Windows would even boot if you associated all exe with another application - even if it was possible which I'm pretty sure it isn't.

I have upgraded to the FCU, but I don't see that icon anywhere.

Has any one else spotted that the icon resembles a red Defender shield? It could be a clue. Do you have any third-party AV installed?

    That certainly suggests a problem.

I don't know anything about removing virus but perhaps someone else will suggest something.

Try running defender scan or Malwarebytes scan in the mean time.

As you think you may have a worm, the red shield may actually be a warning from Defender itself. Though I can't find any documentation to confirm this. Your first step should be to try and clean out this worm.

im scanning using avast right now, and and it's true, they all infected by win32:vb-ojq which by avast detected as worm. thank you for all of you for tried answering my thread.
