  1. Application is using the microphone though default device is off

Since upgrade to 1903 I noticed the microphone icon is on in the taskbar. The default device mic (the webcam) is off. Skype is off too.
Note that select icon that appear on Taskbar, camera, mic and skype are off. In previous version mic icon never showed up with this settings.
Clicking on taskbar icon suggest that one application is using the mic. Thumbnail attached. Is this a new feature or a bug?

Worked out what caused the icon to show. I disabled all sound apps but my camera microphone from recording, on control panel settings. No more Icon on taskbar telling me that one application is using the microphone.

    :)

Application is using the microphone though default device is off

@NMI Thanks for the link supplied.
Somehow yesterday I got myself going to Settings>Taskbar>scroll down to Turn System Icons on and off. I disabled the microphone Icon from there.
Actually I did not have to disable my sound apps recording settings. Now I have access to all my sound apps functions without having to enable them when I need as I would have to do with the method I used earlier

    .

Also I was worry that the application that was running and I could not recognize could be a Trojan. I spent lot of time on task manager checking all svchost entry to make sure they where bonafide.

    All good now.

BTW Yesterday I did try most suggestions on the link you kindly supplied, none worked, the mic Icon kept showing.
Disabling the Icon from System as above did stop the svchost process.
I suppose now it is really solved, maybe... *Devil
