Applying 3 local GPO´s to 3 different Local Groups

Hello! Hoping this is the right category Applying 3 local GPO´s to 3 different Local Groups :) So i have this issue where i need to have role separation on local level, not domain. 3 groups with different accesses/permissions from GPOs. for ie: Group 1 can use windows installer and scripts but not change time Group 2 can change time but not use windows installer and scripts Group 3 can not do anything above but run office apps, open documents/desktop and 1 or 2 more apps rest is blocked. Therefore i need 3 GPOs to apply to these 3 groups. Apply Local Group Policy to Specific User in Windows 10 Followed this guide but my 3 groups arent showing up as they aint seem to be compatible....so my idea is now that i create the GPOs in a domain with the correct group name and then export + convert to local GPO by using: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/...-0/ba-p/701045 But then I think that the GPOs wont hit as they wont find the groups :/ So my questions is: - Is above possible to get done? - Will the GPO hit even though the editor cant find my groups compatible? - How else to do it to get the groups separated with different permissions/accesses from GPOs? Been at it and googling like hell for 3 days but no success

    :)

Hello Frank, and welcome to Ten Forums. Applying 3 local GPO´s to 3 different Local Groups :)

If you have the Windows 10 Home edition, then it will not have Local Users and Groups (lusrmgr.msc) included in it. It's only available in the Pro and Enterprise editions instead.

If you like, you could use step 3 in OPTION THREE of the tutorial below list users in a group.

  3. Create GPOs from Local policies Server 2016

    Hello

    Thanks for reading

I have hardened Windows 10 clients using local group policy. I now want to use those local policies to form the Domain GPOs on Server 2016. What is the easiest way to do this? How can I break down all the local policies and create GPOs from those local policies?

Also, Which takes precedence the Domain GPO or Local Group policy?

Hey Brink, I was just looking at groups in netplwiz today and I noticed that my user account is just in the Admin group now, it used to be in Users and Admin. I have home, so I can't change it. I don't know how it changed. I guess there's nothing I can do about it. Will it be a problem?
I'm tempted to downgrade to my 8.1 pro and go to 10 pro.
