Windows 10: Are there any specific recommendations for a webcam to meet Windows Hello requirements?

    I've seen some webcams that say they work with Windows Hello. If they don't specifically state it, how would I know?

    Hi Raghul,

    To better assist you, please indicate what specifications of your laptop did not meet the Windows Hello requirements.

    As for the facial recognition device, a regular webcam will not work. Windows Hello, provides new ways to authenticate using biometrics including facial recognition. Since this is essentially 3D detection, a camera with a specialized illuminated infrared
    camera is required.

    Hi Jack,

    To resolve your issue regarding your webcam, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows logo key + S.
    • Type Troubleshooting and select it from the list.
    • Select Hardware and Sound.
    • Click on Hardware and Device, and start the troubleshooter.

    Update us on the result.
