Windows 10: Are Updates Valid or am I being Hacked?

on Oct 10, 2018 I had 3 Intel(R) updates today when clicked on the High lighted references to these updates I got Hmmm...can't reach this page when the Edge going to http://sysdev.microsoft.com/support/default.aspx

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Piriform Hacked, CCleaner August Versions (v5.33.6162) Injected, Compromised

What is a checksum, such as sha512, for the valid 533 installer so we can find out if we used the proper installer?

How long after discovery did it take for piriform to announce the hack? They should have used the same email list they use for update availability to let users know what had happened.

thank you for your response and the great information you provided.

I use two step authentication for my email account and all important web sites. I also use the full version of Malwarebytes to protect my computer.

But I will do the scans you suggested AdwCleaner and Limewire.com and let you know the results.

I am worried though that the webcam installed on my laptop could have been hacked. I never use it and forgot about it, so never disabled it.

Any suggestions as to find if it was actually hacked?
