    Arial font emoji(s) became corrupted in 1809


    Hello!


    I was coding in PureBasic and all my projects use the Arial font and some emojis.


    A few days ago I had Windows 10 1803 and the emoji ★ appeared okay in my project.


    Yesterday there was the upgrade for 1809 and now the emoji appears as a square (corrupted).


    I posted in the PureBasic forum complaining about it but a user told me Arial never supported the ★.


    But, for many months that it has been working and only stopped after 1809.

    In the end, a user there said it was a 1809 issue and I believe it is so.


    Could a developer look into it?


    Also, I could not find a proper "Windows topics" in which to fit this issue.

    Corrupted Arial Narrow font stops Notification and Edge display

    2 problems I had:

    1. Edge displays Times font for all web content. (Not talking about Reading View here)

    2. Notification fails to open.

    I saw in another forum a comment about corrupted Arial Narrow fonts stopping Notifications. It is associated with

    Faulting application name: ShellExperienceHost.exe in Event Logs.

    Going to Windows\Fonts and opening Arial font display and clicking on Arial Narrow shows no text. Deleting all Arial Narrow font variations fixes the problems.

    I think Arial Narrow is installed with Office 2016. That is when the problems started.

    Hope that helps anyone with same problem.

    Arial font issue


    Arial font rendering issue after some W10 update.
    Occurrence: PDF files and all browsers.
    Arial font working OK in other applications. Settings > display > scale and layout 100%. "Adjust ClearType text" OK.

    I have a problem with the Arial Font, For example in Corel Draw the Font Arial looks like another font and when I search for something in Bing, Google etc the results appear in the same font that is not clear to read (I attached a pic), and is the same
    when I open pages like Wikipedia, How can I fix this problem? Thanks
