Can you attach a full report from UsbTreeView (File->Save Full Report)?

What version of drivers do you have for the Intel USB controllers?

 

Sucess at last, plugged a new mouse in and hey presto

Now all four USB 3.0 ports are working fine

Did you change something or did everything just start working at 3.0 speeds when you plugged in the mouse?

USB 3.0 and 3.1 refer to the version of the USB spec that the hardware supports, so you can't update it via software.

That said, the USB consortium loves making the 3.x spec as confusing as possible. So USB 3.1 gen 1 is exactly the same as USB 3.0. So technically a USB 3.0 device is also a USB 3.1 (gen 1) device.

But USB 3.1 gen 2 (aka SuperSpeed+ or "SuperSpeed 10Gbps") is faster than USB 3.1 gen 1.

Your motherboard only supports USB 3.0 aka USB 3.1 gen 1.

Yeah I purchased new usb mouse, plugged it in and all ports are now working. Strangely enough no error report in windows 10 anywhere.
But mouse has been playing up so I took a gamble. Only thing is the wifi adapter only seems to support usb 3.0 in 5ghz band. I don't know if this is right or wrong or if the product is at fault or this is normal. I'm in touch with D-link at present and going through things.
So are you saying I can update to USB 3.1 gen 1 do you know where I can download this from, and how to install.

No, I'm saying USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 gen 1 are exactly the same. The USB-IF literally just renamed USB 3.0 to USB 3.1 gen 1.

In order to get USB 3.1 gen 2 you have to get a new motherboard because the hardware is different.

Well that was short lived, back to square one. All usb 3 ports have packed up again. Frustrating. There is still a problem somewhere.

As requested earlier, can you reply with a full UsbTreeView report when you have a USB 3.0 device plugged in? Can you also run the log collector script in BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums ?
