Windows 10: ASUS Laptop Shows 0xC0000428

I have an ASUS laptop that came with Win 8.1 and was upgraded to Win 10. When it boots I get a BSOD that says:

"Recovery
Your PC/Device needs to be repaired

The digital signature for this file couldn't be verified.

Error code: 0xc0000428

You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer.
Press F1 to enter Recovery Environment

Press Esc for UEFI Firmware Settings"


Note that no actual file is named.


I have pressed F1. It takes me back to the above screen. I downloaded the Win10 ISO file and created a recovery disk. I use "Esc" to get to the UEFI settings and set the boot order so that it will boot from that disc. When I boot from the disk I am told that it looks like I'm in the middle of an update and am given the option of taking the disc out and rebooting to continue the update (which takes me to the above screen) or leaving it in and continuing.

If I continue I get a blue-background screen that gives me various repair and recovery options as well as access to a command line where I can try other things.

None of them have worked. Any suggestions?

I bought a laptop Asus UX305C, OS Windows 10. I installed windows 7, but unfortunately I did not find the driver or the trackpad or keyboard and the USB ports.
I decided to return to Windows 10, but I get an error: File: \ windows \ system32 \ Winload.efi

I understand the inconvenience you are facing in booting the device with 0xc0000428 error. We will help you with this issue.

Do let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

• What is the make and model of your device?
• What is the complete error message along with the error code of this issue?
• From when are you facing this issue?
• Have you make any hardware/ software changes to your device prior to this issue?

I would like to inform that when you attempt to start a Windows 10 system, the system fails to start normally and you receive an error:
0xc0000428 for the signed driver dlkmdldr.sys. Do confirm us if you are facing the same issue.

Try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to remove all the external devices except mouse and keyboard, hard reboot the device and check if the issue persists.

Step 2: I suggest you to boot the device by choosing the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" mode from the advanced boot menu, you would be able to boot the system to the desktop.

• Try to boot the device to Windows Recovery Environment
• Click on Advanced options, Startup Settings
  and Restart.
• Once the computer restarts, press F7 key to start he device on
  Disable Driver Signature Enforcement mode.
• Check if the computer boot successfully.

Step 3: I suggest you to install the pending updates on your device after restarting the computer.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

I wish I could offer more suggestions but the problem is with the Asus laptops and not the phones.

You could try seeing how the phones show up in the device manager and these steps but I doubt if WinUsb Device will show up in step 7

1.Plug in your device to the host system.

2.Open Device Manager and locate the device.

3.Right-click the device and select Update driver software... from the context menu.

4.In the wizard, select Browse my computer for driver software.

5.Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

6.From the list of device classes, select Universal Serial Bus devices.

7.The wizard displays WinUsb Device. Select it to load the driver.
