    Asus PC-01-RC01-D usb remote control does not work on 1803-1809 verions


    My Asus pc-01-rc01-d USB remote control does not work with Windows pro 1803-1809. I have Asus z87 Deluxe motherboard and after installation of 1803 or 1809 versions of Windows 10 (clean installation and update from 1703) - this HID USB device doesn't work with 2 errors:

    - This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    - An unknown item was found in the report descriptor.


    On Windows 10 1703 x64 all works perfect. On other device with 1703 it works, on laptop with 1809 doesn't work with the same error.

    System is clean, with all updates (both 1803 (17134.1) and 1809 (17763.134)). What is wrong in these versions compared to 1703 (15063.0)? HID devices is a basic functionality...

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

    I would suggest you to check if there are any updates or patches for the device and download them from the manufacturer’s website.



    I would suggest you to disable and re-enable the USB controllers. The following steps will uninstall all the USB controllers and then re-install them:

    a. Right click on Start, and then click
    Run.

    b. Type “devmgmt.msc”
    without quotes, and then click OK. Device Manager opens.

    c. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

    Note: You might have to scroll down the list to find this item.

    d. Right click the first USB controller under
    Universal Serial Bus controllers, and then click Uninstall to remove it.

    e. Repeat step 4 for each USB controller that is listed under
    Universal Serial Bus controllers.



    Note: Restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically scan for hardware changes and reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled.
