Windows 10: Audio devices not detected

Hi, i have been using my headphones for quite a while now with my laptop. They work fine, like when i plug in the audio plays in the headphones only. Today i was wanting to record audio from my headset's mic, then i noticed that my headset's mic was not showing in the software i was using to record. I went to settings windows one to see if my headphones were there in the devices but they were not there. I also checked this in discord, there is an option to select which device you want to use for input and output. In both of them only my laptop's built in one was there but i was hearing in my headphones. How do i fix this? how do i make windows detect my headphones. I also followed a bunch of tutorials but nothing was good. I tried updating the drivers, checking my device in the sound settings if the control panel also checked in the disabled devices. Please help!

This issue may occur due to the audio and display driver is out dated. Let’s try simple troubleshooting methods and check if it helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below methods information provided.

Method 1.

I would suggest you to run sound audio troubleshooter, it will automatically detect the problem and fix it. Follow the below steps.

  Press Windows key + R and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on View by: category and click on
  Small icon.
  
• 
  Now click on troubleshooting and click on
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on Playing Audio and Click on Next button.
  

If the issue still persist try the below steps:

Method 2.

I recommend you to update the audio driver and check if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• Now click on Audio input and output and right click on it and
  update the driver.
• For the video issues try the below method.

Method 3.

Also I suggest you to update the display driver and let us know the status.

• 
  Press Windows Key + R and type
  devmgmt.msc in the box and hit Enter.
  
• 
  Locate and Expand the Display Adapter driver.
  
• 
  Right Click on the Display Device.
  
• 
  Click on update.

no audio device detected

when I plug my headphones into the front panel audio jack, a dialog box pops up, like this one:





Yet sound is turned off. I can look at this dialog box as well:









Any help is appreciated.

 

No audio devices detected


So, after upgrading to Windows 10, my computer no longer detects any audio devices.

Device manager only detects nvidia hd audio
Playback devices only detects nvidia hd audio

After installing realtek drivers, realtek is nowhere to be found - no icon in system tray, no realtek device in device manager etc.

USB headphones work fine, just dont have any support for rear panel audio jacks, have disconnected front panel audi connector, installed fress win10 copy, still nothing
