Windows 10: Audio input no longer functioning after some error with xbox game bar

Hello All,


I tried out using the xbox game bar on windows 10 to party chat with a friend. During this call, I lost the ability to hear the other members, but they could still hear me. I could still hear all other audio at this time. I restarted my computer, and now audio input is not detected on my stereo microphone or by my webcam. I tried disabling the device in device manager, and then reenabling. That did not work, so I also reinstalled the entire audio driver. The microphone input is still not detected on either the webcam or the stereo microphone. I am unsure of what troubleshooting steps to take next. I will be requiring my microphone very soon for school, and I'm worried that my only option is a clean install.

Xbox Game Bar Capture Doesn't Record Mic Audio

I understand that you are facing issues while recording microphone audio using game bar while playing games.



I would suggest you to try troubleshooting Game Bar and see if that helps. Refer the article

In addition, you can also check if the Microphone for game bar is enabled under privacy settings.

1. Go to Settings (press Windows +
   I key together) > Privacy.
   
2. On the left hand pane scroll down and look for
   Microphone.
   
3. Toggle Allow apps to access Microphone
   to ON.
   
4. Under Choose which Microsoft Store app can access your Microphone toggle Xbox game bar to
   ON.
   
5. Restart the game bar.

Xbox Game Bar doesn't show the volume mixer

EDIT:

• Edit 1: still no actual answer for a way to fix this. But I just factory reset my PC, the volume mixer works perfectly now. I know this is not the answer you wanted, but it's all we have
  

Before I go into details do not suggest:

• Fixing my audio driver by updating/removing it
• Resetting the Xbox Game Bar app
• Doing the 'sfc /scannow 'command
• Telling me to use the volume mixer built into windows
• Referring me to the Xbox Game Bar app troubleshooting page

OK, now that we go that out of the way. I have had this problem for about 3 weeks. The issue is that the Xbox Game Bar doesn't display the volume mixer correctly, it only shows the main audio driver's volume mixer and nothing else (no app volume mixer like:
CS:GO, Microsoft Edge Beta, Spotify etc.).
