Windows 10: Audio Input not working

My Laptop model is Hp Probook 450 G4. Recently I had to reset my laptop. I did this before and it was fine. But this time my audio input stopped working. I mean my sounds are not recorded by the pc,I cant call or use my mic in games or anywhere else. I cant even use voice recorder. Its not my mic issue cause i tried multiple mics and even the internal mic but no sound is recorded. I checked all the drivers. Everything is up to date. I even tried resetting it one more time but in vain. It shows everything is connected and up to date but it just doesn’t receive my voice or any kind of sound. I tried to troubleshoot but the troubleshooter only tried to fix my output sound but thats not the problem. I can hear everything i just cant talk back to it. I also tried reinstalling my conexant driver still no luck. In the settings there is an option "test mic". i tried to use it to test but it shows no movement as if I'm not making any sound. I'm really struggling and would really appreciate a solution. Thanks in advance.

Windows 10 Audio input to programs broken

Recently my audio input, from USB headset and USB guitar cable have stopped working. Going into Windows 'Sounds' and enabling 'Listen to this device' outputs the audio as expected; the problem is not with the devices. However, as soon as I try to use them with any other program, discord, for example, no audio input is detected by discord.

I have tried everything I can think of and some suggestions from Googling around;

• Updating everything - windows, drivers, all related software
  
• Rolling windows back to the last build
  
• Trying different USB ports
  
• Reinstalling drivers and software
  
• Running Windows troubleshooters
  
• Playing with device properties settings
  

But nothing seems to work, any suggestions?
