Windows 10: Audio interface and audio apps set up help

Hello,


I work in audio post production and I've just moved from Mac to Windows. I'm having an issue with audio apps and my sound card when their respective sample rates differ. For example, lets say my sound card is set to 48kHz sampling rate. When I open a stand alone synth, or I open a program like iZotope RX and those programs are at a different sampling rate, a little "X" appears over the bottom right hand speaker icon and says no speakers are plugged in and the sound cards sampling rate has now been changed to whatever the apps rate is at. Now, sound does actually still come out from my speakers but only from that program, no others. Windows seems unable to resolve the issue. The only option seems to be to unplug my sound card and plug it back in which is both inconvenient and annoying, and also just seems like bad practice.


I knew things wouldn't always be as smooth on Windows as a Mac, especially with audio, but this is pretty inconvenient when your job is audio. Can anyone help?

Multichannel audio interface in/out routing

• What is the make and model of your external audio interface?
• Which routing application are you using?

The configurations of inputs and outputs on any audio interface is dependent on the hardware and its supporting software. Any audio interface with more than 2 inputs and 2 outputs, should ideally give the user an option to map the
Input and Output Config, according to his interest.



I suggest you to go through the user manual provided by your audio interface's manufacturer to know how to set up the control surface.



If it doesn't explain how to configure, I suggest you to get in touch with the audio interface's manufacturer to know how to configure the same.

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

Audio interface App for Window S mode

What specific equipment or audio interface are you referring to help you find an alternative? If the audio interface is crucial for the equipment to work, then you need to switch out of S Mode for you to be able to install it.
