Windows 10: Audio issue after update on 12 Sept 2018

So after the 'critical update' was installed on 12 Sept, I lost audio. I thought that perhaps it may be my speakers, but I changed from the rear audio port to the headphones jack and it worked for a short while before stopping completely. I uninstalled the driver and rebooted and they worked in both audio ports for a short time. Until the same thing happened. One minute I have clear audio and then nothing. I attempted the same fix as before, but it didn't work. So I decided to do a system restore, which (so far) has worked.


As I have Windows 10 Pro, I have paused the updates until next month so that I don't have the same issue again in a hurry.


My question is, is Microsoft aware of the issue and how can I ensure that I don't have a similar issue when the updates revert to automatic?


Would appreciate any help you can give me.

KB4038788 Update Sept. 12 2017

I have very similar Edge crashes listed in Reliability Monitor. It all started after cumulative patch KB4038788 was applied this morning, Sept 13 2017.

On Sept 7, 2018, the daily game for jigsaw jam is not working correctly. When are you fixes this?????
