Windows 10: Audio not working

I have built a pc recently and ever since i turned it one, the audio has not been working perfectly.

Desktop audio is being picked up from an unknown source, first i thought it was my headset but when I unplug it, there's still somewhere the desktop audio can be picked up.

By "desktop audio getting pickede up", i mean when I'm on a call, the other members will start hearing my desktop audio but it would be muffled.

When I checked the control panel, the playback seemed to work fine but when I went to the recordings tab, there's only one available mic but the bar doesnt activate when im talking even if i could be heard clearly when i go into properties and turn on "listen to this device"

My headset has a manual mic mute button too, when i turn that on mic should be muted, my voice cannot be heard but the desktop audio can be heard.

I have updated windows 10 to the latest update and i have reinstalled the driver multiple times.

AUDIO SERVICE NOT WORKING.

Hi,

In that case, I suggest you follow below.

Step 1:

In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select it from the results.

Step 2:

Select the arrow next to Sound, video and game controllers to expand it.

Step 3:

Look for IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. If it's listed, right-click it and select Update Driver, then select Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Step 4:

You’ll see a list of pre-installed drivers. Select High Definition Audio Device, and then select Next.

Step 5:

Restart PC

Can not record audio.

We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.
