Windows 10: Audio not working

I have followed the "fix sound problems guide" on the main Microsoft page and none of the options work for me. the basis of my problem:


I turn on my computer, login, jack in my headphones to the headphone jack on the front panel of my computer alongside the power button. Normally the Realtek audio manager window automatically displays on my home screen this however did not happen. i followed the guide on how to update Realtek audio drivers to a fault, wherein after typing the home button + r keys and selected devmgmt.msc, under audio inputs and outputs as well as sound, video and game controllers drop down menu's and the option for "Realtek High Definition Audio" was not an option i could select and therefore i could not update/search for updates for this option.

NOTE: I have tried using every aux panel on my computer



Then I tried looking for the program manually under C:/Program Filesx86 "Realtek" was not an available option in the folders

NOTE: I also tried looking in C:/Program Files


After this I tried re-installing the program altogether from my motherboard's manufacturer's website at the below link:

I selected 64-bit windows 10 OS and re-downloaded the program to the downloads page, I restarted my pc and this option was also a failure

NOTE: I also tried moving the file to the Program files x86 and Program files directories separately and restarted my computer both times with the file existing only in those locations upon startup

NOTE: I looked in the About My PC option of the settings page and it confirmed my device was a 64-bit windows 10 OS



No matter what I try my computer both doesn't have the Realtek program working on my computer neither does it recognize my headphones when I plug them in, the only devices it DOES recognize are steam streaming microphone and steam streaming speakers


If anyone knows a solution to this issue I would really appreciate knowing how

• What troubleshooting steps have you performed to fix the issue?

AUDIO SERVICE NOT WORKING.

Hi,

In that case, I suggest you follow below.

Step 1:

In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select it from the results.

Step 2:

Select the arrow next to Sound, video and game controllers to expand it.

Step 3:

Look for IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. If it's listed, right-click it and select Update Driver, then select Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Step 4:

You’ll see a list of pre-installed drivers. Select High Definition Audio Device, and then select Next.

Step 5:

Restart PC

Let me know the results after performing the above.

Can not record audio.

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.
