Windows 10: Audio occasionally cuts out after using screenshot program

Hello. I'm having issues with my Windows audio.

Occasionally when I take a screenshot tried with both snipping tool and gyazo, my audio randomly cuts out and only works once I restart my PC. I tried this with two different speakers and my headphones, so I know it's not an issue with those. They are still connected via Bluetooth when the audio stops.


Specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

MB: MSI B550 Gaming Plus

GPU: RTX 3070


I originally thought it may have been an issue with my motherboard's audio connector, but after checking, there was nothing apparently wrong.

Any help appreciated.

Audio Service Fails Occasionally

Thank you again. The audio program I use which ends up freezing/crashing is called FTR Player (For The Record). To my knowledge, it is up to date as occasionally the company release patches when new Windows 10 updates cause conflicts with the program.
I might try reinstalling this, as you suggest. Thanks again.

 

Windows 10 Audio Randomly Cuts Out

1) Is the issue confined with specific browser, when you say online audio and video is not working?

2) Is the issue is confined with play online audio/video or with system audio as well?

3) Which exact Windows troubleshooter you have run?



I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.



Step 1: If you have not performed audio troubleshooter then, I suggest you to perform audio troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the Search area on the taskbar and select
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Select Playing Audio under
  Sound and follow the on screen.
  

Step 2: Set Windows Audio services as manual.

Follow the below steps:

1) Press Windows key + r, type services.msc and hit Enter.

2) Check for the Windows Audio services.

3) Right click on the service and select Manual.

Can not record audio.

• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.
