Windows 10: Audio on head/earphones not working on windows 10

Hello,


The audio through peripherals on my laptop has stopped working, though the speakers work perfectly fine. When I plug into my audio jack it then prompts me to select which device I plugged in, the speakers then stop working but there is no sound through my headphones. I have tried plugging in multiple headphones and earphones and non seem to work. I've even contacted customer support and he/she has guided me through updating my drivers but the problem persists. I would really appreciate some insight as to how I can fix this problem.

No

• Have you tried other earphones on your Windows?

No, i just bought it yesterday.

• Have you tried the earphones on another PC or laptop?

no, but it works in my smartphone

• How is the earphones connecting to the machine? Is it via wired connection or through Bluetooth?

wired.

• When the earphones are connected, are you still getting audio from the speakers?

yes, nothing goes through the earphones though.

Install all pending updates on the system, restart and check the status of the issue. Further, I suggest you to try the below methods and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Method 1: Run the Audio Troubleshooter on the system

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Sound. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Audio

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the playing Audio troubleshooter

Method 2: Refer the link and perform the troubleshooting steps suggested.

Fix connections to Bluetooth audio devices and wireless displays.
