    Audio output issue

So I've recently encountered this issue where, when i have something plugged into the headphone jack it works fine, but when its coming out of my laptop (HP Pavillion 15-cw1042au) the sound works for about half a second then goes really quiet, even on vlc media player witht the volume on 100 and vlc on 200% it only sounds like the laptop is on 10, ive tried troubleshooting the speakers and sound drivers (and tried updating them) and all that stuff (ive also tried turning it off and on again) but nothing works, anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,

Corrupted or outdated drivers may be the possible cause why your audio/video was not working. To isolate your issue, we'd like to gather more information:

    • Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
    • Did you get any error messages?
    • Have you tried updating your driver?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you download and run the troubleshooter in this

No Audio Output Device is Installed

    Hi,

You will need to select Windows 8 from the drop down list while installing the driver in compatibility mode.

I would suggest you to try setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

    1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

    2. Select "playback devices".

    3. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

    5. Save the changes.

    Let us know the result.
