Windows 10: Audio Overlay

When I am adjusting the volume and have a video playing in Google Chrome there is a very annoying audio overlay that comes up. The audio overlay shows a play button and pause like its a song. It does not happen when adjusting audio in other programs.

Ok, I got a question. The options to hide the overlay are confusing. What are the steps to turn on the overlay in-game? Not interested in logging much at the moment. Is Alt-R part of turning it on/off?

Can not record audio.
