  1. Audio Panning to the left, I think it's Realtek HD Audio Manger?

Hey I'm new here so I hope this is the right place to be posting this?

I'm using Windows 10 and have been since it was released, my issue is audio is being panned to the left or the volume from the right is lower than the left. This is an issue that's been going on for a long while, I think it may be something to do with my Realtek HD audio manager. I know it isn't a hardware problem because it affects my speakers and headphones, when I rolled back the driver it replaced it with a HD Audio Driver and the panning issue was gone so I know it's not the audio jack itself. I have reinstalled Realtek HD Audio manager and made sure it's on the latest version. It does this through my rear audio ports as well as my from headphone jack, but not through my Blue Yeti's audio output, but Realtek doesn't recognise that as an audio output. I have also checked the balancing on everything in Playback Devices. I can pan the audio to the right by about half and the volume balances but it loses some of the quality and causes it to sound really muddy.

I was wondering if anyone knows a fix? The only thing I haven't tried is a Windows reinstall, which I'd really rather not right now as I have a lot of data and no real way to safely back it up.

    :)

External microphone really quiet (Realtek HD Audio-Manager)

    Hello,

I have a problem with the Realtek HD Audio-Manager. I bought a new headset a few days ago. It is working fine on the Playstation, tablet and on my mobile phone. However on my Notebook it is very quiet.

I plugged it in but the I think the Realtek HD Audio-Manager puts the internal microphone and my external microphone into one microphone array (well, that's what at least is showing in the system settings).

So even though I set every audio setting to maximum, the microphone is still very quiet. I also updated the drivers and reinstalled the Realtek HD Audio-Manager.

Once when I deinstalled the Realtek HD Audio-Manager and I tried the troubleshooting it somehow worked fine for a few seconds. But then it reinstalled Realtek HD-Audio-Manager automatically and the microphone was quiet once again.

Realtek HD Audio powercfg -request keeps Win 10 from sleep

After many months of trying everything it seems that the problem is solved.

Use control panel, devices, right click audio and video games - disable Realtek HD Audio.

Check the online search for new software and it will auto install.

Go back to devices, audio and video games and observe that the Realtek HD Audio has been replace by Realtek Audio.

You will find that the Realtek HD audio problem no longer appears when you do a request.

It appears that the was a conflict with the HD Audio and Win. 10 and its been updated.

I've seen several reports of panning problems. Using the generic, basic function, Windows installed High Definition audio drivers (codec) seems to correct the problem but the extra items with Realtek are not available.

I just built a new system with an ASUS Maximus VIII Hero motherboard (a newer version of the original poster's M/B) and do not have the problem. I'm using 6.0.1.7727 Realtek driver (as reported by Device Manager). I moved the Win 10 SSD drive from my old system to this new system. Didn't reinstall Windows (reactivated Win 10 with "Digital Entitlement")

A USB device does not use the PC's sound card, it is digital only. For example USB headsets convert the digital to audio inside the headset. A USB mic outputs digital to the PC and thus does not use the PC's sound card to convert the analog audio to digital.
