Windows 10: Audio problems!!!

AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!

I'm about to become an Apple user real quick!

All of a sudden my mic/speakers/voice recording SOMETHING isn't working right. No app is able to hear my voice recording (Facebook, Skype, Zoom, Cortana)

• YES I have checked the Privacy and that all the apps have access to my mic and speakers
• YES I have troubleshooted the mic, the speakers, the stereo, the sound/game, the voice recorder. Everything checks out fine. When I test the mic through the sound icon it "troubleshoots" as working properly (green bar goes up and down with my voice)
• YES I have updated the devices for the speakers, the mic, the stereo and then rolled it back and then updated it again, then tried actually plugging in an external headphones/mic STILL a problem!
• YES I have "set up" the mic - WHICH MADE THINGS WORSE...because NOW I get horrible feedback when we test the mic...the green bar goes up and down with my voice but it doesn't RECORD me when I'm talking about how Peter prefers the mic over typing or pen and paper (see yes I have done this step) AND now it comes on randomly, even when nothing is using the mic and/or the computer is in sleep. OR it constantly pics up an echo of everything and plays it back to me with a feedback echo and whine.

I have tested going LIVE in Facebook it recorded my voice but also picks up the horrible echo/whine from the computer speakers. When I clicked the mic icon on the tool bar (Cortana) and tried again it doesn't record my voice at all. Same with Zoom.

I don't know if it the mic or the voice recorder...both are internal. How do I reinstall either? (before I just chuck this computer and buy an Apple!!)

• Did you get any error messages?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

We suggest that you try to run the
audio troubleshooter. It might be able to fix audio problems automatically.

  Is the issue is specific to only export stream videos?

I appreciate the steps you have performed. Let’s try simple steps and check if this helps. Follow the below steps provided.

Step 1.

I would suggest you to run sound audio troubleshooter, it will automatically detect the problem and fix it. Follow the below steps.

• 
  Press Windows key + R and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on View by: category and click on
  Small icon.
  
• 
  Now click on troubleshooting and click on
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on Playing Audio and Click on
  Next button.
  
• 
  Click on Advanced on the Audio troubleshooter dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
  
• 
  Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Audio troubleshooter.
  

If the issue still persist, try the below steps.

Step 2.

I suggest you to set the headset as default and check.

• 
  Right click on the on the sound icon on the Windows taskbar.
  
• 
  Click on Sounds and click on Playback
  tab.
  
• 
  Click on the headset and set it as default by clicking on the
  Set default button.
  
• 
  Now click Apply and OK.

Can not record audio.

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.
