Windows 10: Audio Weirdness

I play audio on my computer thru an interface MOTU Track 16 and within just the last week, I've been getting a high pitched squeal not too loud and then silence, then it kicks back again. It happens intermittently and I don't recognize anything that triggers it.

And troubleshooting the interface detected no problems with the device.

Can not record audio.

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

Audio weird?

If you're experiencing Sound issues in Windows 10, I suggest that you run the
Audio troubleshooter as an initial troubleshooting. Since you haven't tried it yet according to your post, please try it by following the steps here on this
article. There are further troubleshooting steps there and I advise that you follow them through if the Audio troubleshooter
doesn't help.

Also, according to your edits on on your post, it seems that the issue is with your Motherboard or Sound card (depending on where the front audio IO panel is connected). There is an option in the BIOS setting to enable the Onboard HD Audio Front Panel. However,
I highly recommend to get assistance from your Motherboard's or PC's manufacturer with this as wrongfully tinkering with the BIOS can give inconveniences.

Audio Problems

Hi there SimonWildZX, I will be your Independent Advisor for today, I hope we can both resolve your problem.

May I suggest to completely uninstall all Audio drivers listed in the Device manager including the headset. Please make sure to completely remove.

Here is how to do it.

Here the steps to completely remove a Device off your computer.

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.

Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry Sound and Audio devices. Right-click the problematic device and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.

Step 5. Reboot the computer.

Repeat the steps in all the Audio devices listed.

Then reboot. then test the headset again.
