Windows 10: Auto-save Snip & Sketch screenshots?

Is this possible? I love that PrtScn autosaves to my OneDrive, but I have been using my PC in tablet mode a lot recently so I have to use Snip & Sketch instead.

I have been using it during class lectures online, and sometimes they move relatively quickly so I don't have time to waste opening each one and doing a Save As. I want to just autosave them and deal with them after the lecture. I would also be open to using a 3rd party alternative if this is impossible and someone knows of one.

Snip and Sketch Awkward

Use Windows+shift+s to launch Snip and Sketch. Can snip a screenshot.

Now the problem is this: after snipping the screen shot, it does not automatically appear in the Snip and Sketch app. So I open Snip and Sketch and there's nothing on it.

So I have choose 'new' and snip the screen yet again.

I recall using this once and taking a screenshot and voila! Snip and Sketch appeared with the screen shot duly in the app's workspace, ready for annotations and saving etc. This facility has disappeared. I have re-set it according to instructions, and even
reinstalled it - yet the problem persists.

Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

 

Snip & Sketch - Auto Save to Specified Location

With the new "Snip & Sketch" tool, I can't find the option to set where snips are saved. If I take a snip, it simply copies it to the clipboard instead of saving it as an image.

* I do NOT want them copied to the clipboard. I have turned "Auto copy to clipboard" OFF but it still shows the "Snip saved to clipboard" window. This is a bug.

* When I take a snip, it does not save the snip to a file, so if I take multiple snips without manually saving each one, they're lost and only the latest one can be edited. I need to take multiple snips and have them saved to separate files automatically.

Where are these options?

 

Snip & Sketch

It's the Snipping Tool that's being phased out, not Snip & Sketch. FWIW, I just used the latter tool and was able to paste the snip into a Word (Office 365) document. There was a point in the past when for reasons unknown, opening Word would clear the
clipboard. If you're using an older version, you might want to try opening the document first, before taking a screenshot.

If you prefer to use Snipping Tool, all you have to do (as I suggested earlier) is open the Start Menu and type snip.
