    Auto Update 07/29 causing problems?


    My computer appears to have undergone an automatic Windows 10 update on 07/29. Immediately afterward, odd stuff started happening:
    1) the notification message for the USB port that will charge while the computer is in "sleep" mode started a repetitive loop; the only way I could stop it was to turn off "app notifications";
    2) trying to print on an Epson SX235 (which had worked properly and will still do copies and scans) and that no longer works, acting as if the print buffer gets filled, then dumps, then fills, then dumps, in a loop.

    Is anyone else having these problems or any others from this latest update? Have not yet checked update history, so unable to identify specific update code, but...seems unlikely that both this peculiarities are coincidental. Any recommendations to see if Microsoft loads another to fix a problem they introduced? I don't even know where to begin to turn for resolution.

    windows 10 upgrade fails, please help

    I'm trying to upgrade an 8.1 machine and it has failed 3 times in a row all at the same spot. I'm not sure what to do anymore. it gets to 80-90% on phase 2 then restarts. when its restarting back up it blue screens with a thread_exception_unhandled(ndis.sys) message.
    Windows update gives me an error code C1900101-40017. Is this a bug in the updater? Will I be able to upgrade?(I don't want to do a clean install)

    based off some similar error codes, seems like a drivers that are causing this maybe? I unplugged everything but my mouse, keyboard and wifi adapter.

    Installer closing at ~6% (wimmount?/0x80070003)

    Hi there,

    i got a issue while upgrading windows 7 Ultime 64 bit to windows 10 pro 64 bit. I get to the point where it's in fullscreen mode and installing. The problem is it stops at about 6% and just tells me that it's failed to install Windows 10 without any errorcode.

    After a long research i found out where the log datas of the installation are saved and i think the issue is there:

    I can see this error anytime i tried it. Could recreate it 5/5.

    Auto Update 07/29 causing problems?

    Update: More bizarre the closer I look. I just checked my Update History in System Settings and the last entry is for an update on 07/22, but yesterday 07/29, before I turned notifications off, I was posted a notification that "updates have been installed". But all the oddities started happening after that post. Also, just ran a scan with Malware and to indication of any problems, there or with Norton's. Discouraged.

    Update: Further exploration suggests that 1) this was glitch that arose when the (now mystery) update occurred, or 2) and more likely, something in the Toshiba connections. The machine has 3 usb ports. I abandoned the one in which the printer is typicially attached and used another port...printer worked as hoped. I switched the mouse the the port that was killing the printer...mouse worked. I reattached printer to the port that initially killed it, and of course it worked as anticipated and just fine. Source of difficultes,...still searching, but crisis passed.
