    Auto updates

I'm having trouble with the automatic part of the Microsoft automatic updates. My private connection is not free, and not unlimited. I want the updates, but I'd rather download them via a public (free) connection. My computer time is beginning to center around the automatic updates, and going to a public connection before I use my private one to save bandwidth. There's an automatic update almost every day.

If there's a way to set my connection as metered, I can't find it.

    Help!

    :)

  3. window 10 auto updates auto switch on problem

I have noticed that although I have set active hours for auto down loads of the latest updates, the menu for switching this on/off is greyed out in the off position .I suspect that this is causing difficulty in the laptop downloading updates when I am
trying to use it. Is there an obvious solution that I am missing.
