    Hi Olivier,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the autocorrect feature in the Mail and Calendar app on Windows 11. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Check your language settings: Make sure that your language settings are correct and up to date. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language to check and update your language settings.

Turn off "Highlight misspelled words": Sometimes, the autocorrect feature can behave strangely if the "Highlight misspelled words" option is turned on. To turn it off, go to Settings > Devices > Typing > Spelling, typing & keyboard settings > Typing settings > toggle off "Highlight misspelled words".

Update Windows: Make sure that your Windows operating system is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update to check for and install any available updates.

If none of these steps work, you may need to reinstall the Mail and Calendar app.

There are two ways to reset or reinstall the Mail and Calendar app in Windows 11. One way is to use the Settings app, and another way is to use the Command Prompt, PowerShell, or Windows Terminal. Here are the steps for each method:

To reset or reinstall the app via Settings, open the Settings app using search or Windows + I keyboard shortcut. In the left pane, click Apps.

Now, on the right side, click Apps & features to navigate to Settings > Apps > Apps & features page.

The page displays a list of built-in and installed apps. Here, look for the Mail and Calendar entry.

Click on the three vertical dots next to it and click Advanced options.

On the next page, scroll down and click Reset to reset the app data.

If that doesn’t work, go back to Apps & features page and click Uninstall instead of Advanced options to remove the app completely.

Then open up the Microsoft Store app, search for Mail and Calendar app, and click Install to download and install a fresh copy of it.

To reset or reinstall the app via Command Prompt/PowerShell/Terminal, open any of these programs as an administrator by searching for them, right-clicking on them and clicking Run as administrator option.

Then type or copy-paste this command:

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps | Remove-AppxPackage

This will uninstall both Mail and Calendar apps from your account.

Then type or copy-paste this command:

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

This will reinstall both Mail and Calendar apps for all users.

I hope this helps you fix your issue with Mail and Calendar app. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely

  3. Autocorrect in Mail and Calendar app with Windows 11 behaves strange

    Hi,

When typing an email using Mail (much better than the outdated Outlook btw), I keep having the following issues:

    - the word "next" is always transformed into "NeXT" (like Steeve Job's attempted rival to Apple form the 1980's),

    - the word "who" is always transformed into "WHO".

I turn autocorrect on and off, but nothing changes.

    Any tip welcomed

Autocorrect in Mail and Calendar app with Windows 11 behaves strange

Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Autocorrect in Mail and Calendar app with Windows 11 behaves strange :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
