Windows 10: AutoDesk DWG TrueView 2020 installation error

I am unable to install AutoDesk DWG TrueView 2020. I get a message with "Error 1310. Error writing to file: C\Windows\Fonts\AcadEref.ttf. Verify that you have access to that directory."


I have administrative rights but I am unable to change anything related to the Fonts folder.

Opening .dwg files

It is not a Windows file.

You will have to make the choice of what you want to use.

Use 3rd party programs at your own risk

Windows File Explorer keeps refreshing

Some applications uses windows explorer by some reason. I had same problem and after i uninstalled autodesk dwg trueview it became normal.

The error message reads:

I have a VB.net 2015 desk top app that employs DWG TrueViewer 2017 on a Form. It works fine except that when I select a .dwg file to view. When this Error Message popup. In VB.net I have a Try Catch which does not catch any errors. If I run DWG Trueviewer
in stand alone mode it work fine without any errors. So I looked at permissions on C:\windows\system32 and my User had Read & Execute,List Content and Read. This may be the cause but given what is contained in system32 I'm a bit nervous of changing the permissions.
Lastly none of the Event Viewers in ComputerManagement are logging anything of note.

So I'm stuck! its a 3-way thing is it Windows or VB.net or DWG TrueViewer.
