Windows 10: Automatic Mobile Hotspot on PC Boot

I have the same question as the user in this post. However the response method does not work for me.

Automatically turn on Mobile Hotspot when the PC boots

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want the Mobile Hotspot to startup automatically when boot the PC.

One of the workaround you can do is creating a batch file to start the hotspot automatically. Kindly, follow the steps mentioned below to create the batch file.

1. Press Windows key + R. This will open Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for
   Run.
2. In Run dialog box, type notepad and hit enter.
3. Now type in the following command: netsh wlan start hostednetwork //start hotspot
4. Now click on File and click on
   Save as.
5. On the left hand pane click on Desktop.
6. Under file name type Hotspot.bat and change the save as type to
   All files.
7. Click on Save.

Once you save the file on Desktop follow the steps to save it under
Startup folder so the batch file runs automatically after a restart.

1. Press Windows key + R. This will open Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for
   Run.
2. In Run dialog box, type Shell:Startup and hit enter.
3. A new window will be open, drag and drop the
   Hotspot.bat file to the new window.
4. Restart the PC.

Mobile Hotspot

We appreciate that you have tried the suggested steps above. Have you tried to connect other devices to the mobile hotspot on your PC?

Since the issue is still the same, we suggest that you uninstall/reinstall the network adapter driver and check if this will resolve the issue. Follow the steps below:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Locate for Network adaptor and click on it expand it.
  
• 
  Right click on the device and click on
  uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done uninstalling the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the generic network adapter driver.
  

We can also update the network adapter driver. Skip step 3 from the above steps and right click on the device and click on update.

mobile hotspot enabling

Hello,

This error may occur if your WiFi adapter does not support the Mobile hotspot feature. To check if it is supported, please follow these steps:

• Open Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type this netsh wlan show drivers and hit Enter.
• In the results, look for Hosted network supported and check if it says
  Yes or No.

Note: Your WiFi adapters supports Mobile hotspot if it says Yes.

If the WiFi adapter supports Mobile hotspot, we can reinstall the network adapter to resolve your concern. To do so, please follow these steps:

• Open Device Manager.
• Select Network adapters.
• Double-click the Network adapter name.
• Under Driver tab, click Uninstall.
• After uninstalling the driver, restart your PC.

After your PC restarts, Windows will automatically look for and install the network adapter driver.
