Windows 10: Automatically Change IP Address

Where i work at i am constantly having to switch between wireless networks. In 1 network my laptop is able to be setup in DHCP mode. In the other networks my laptop has to be setup with a fixed IP address that is different per network. Is there a way to setup the computer so that when i switch networks the IP address can change automatically. Im running an HP Elitebook with Windows 10 Enterprise.

Finding IP address

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to find printer’s IP address:

1. Type Devices and Printers in the Windows search bar.
   
2. Select on the printer and click on
   Manage.
   
3. Click on the Ports tab.
   You will be able to find printer’s IP address under the ‘Ports’ tab.
   

Few printers also have a “Test print” option on the printer. When you print a test page from network printer, the page shows the IP address along with other details.

Note: If it is set on DHCP mode the IP address will constantly change.
The IP address is assigned automatically by your router using a protocol called DHCP.

Your IP is provided by your ISP and cannot be changed. Your IP address is assigned to you by the ISP and can be seen by anyone.

I would suggest that you refer the link and follow the steps from the article.

Cant change my dynamic IP address

Your experts solution is not changing the dynamic IP address. I have tried the ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew commands and they dont seem to have changed the IP address. I check my IP address by typing ipconfig
/all in cmd to view it.

As regards to the "ncpa.cpl"-solution, its completely irrelevant because I do not want to choose "use the following
ip address" and type it manually. Can't it be changed to something else automatically? I cant manually type in a new IP address.

As the third expert's comment suggests;

Optional - Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically;

both are checked and IP address is still not changed. So that's not really a real solution.

So I'm going to ask you, what do you want a screenshot of? My IP address to see if it really isn't changing? I believe I have explained my request perfectly, and the solutions are not solving the issue.
