    Avast Firewall Blocking Ubuntu Windows Store App


    Avast Firewall is on and set to ask for connections to allow or block.
    I installed Ubuntu Windows Store App, but could not connect.
    Avast Firewall did not ask anything. It always asks even if the program is a Windows Store app, but for Ubuntu app, it does not.
    I tried to add it as a rule, but it only accepts exe files.
    How can I add a Windows Store App (or in this case Ubuntu app) as a rule in Avast Firewall or how can I stop Avast from blocking Ubuntu App?
    (Adding C:\Windows\System32\bash.exe as a rule to allow did not help.)

    Windows Firewall blocks App Store from downloading new apps

    Hi,

    Let's try to check if the app store you're referring to if it's really blocked by Windows Firewall. See these steps:

    • Open Windows Firewall from the taskbar >
      Firewall & network protection       > Allow an app through firewall.
    • A new window will show up containing the list of the apps that ca be allowed through Firewall.
    • Look for the app you want to be accessed, and make sure that the Domain, Private and Public are ticked. That would allow the app store to be accessed.

    Let us know what happens after doing the suggestion.

    Windows Firewall blocking websites

    I have blocked IP addresses, e.g. 255.255.255.255, not URLs, e.g. somewebsite.co m.

    As far as unblocking, look at your Windows Firewall rules. Do you see anything that is blocked? If you do, click on the Scope tab and see what is listed there.

    Firewall (AVG firewall)l blocks modern (not desktop) app TouchVPN, how to make an exception in the firewall settings for the apps from windows store?

    App is installed, firewall blocks internet access for this app.

    It is easy to add desktop apps to exception list in firewall settings, but how can I do this with modern apps

    from store (have no access to exe files and even folders)

    If I change AVG firewall to Windows firewall how can I allow modern apps internet access?
