Windows 10: Avast- UI Failed to Load error after 1803 Update

I installed the April 2018 (1803) upgrade update today.
Now Avast will not start. I get the error message: "UI Failed to load". Restarting the service will not work.

Windows Defender, real time protection is OFF.

I reinstalled AVAST. It worked after install, but failed again after Windows restart.

At a loss at this point. Any help?

update 1803 fails with error 0x80090016

after it failed I when to the ms media creation tool update button and download the 1803 update.

It also failed even though all checks were all good before it tried to update

I've ran all the troubleshooters, disk check, sfc /scannow and DISM all check good

I don't have a restore point because of disk space so can't roll back to a save point

I even tried running the complete reinstall window 10 on top of windows 10 and it failed trying to update to 1803 and rolled back

I have an HP stream 7 tablet 32gb hd and have 10gb free space and a 64gb memory card

on other pcs and laptops that did install I'm seeing error, wifi disconnects, audit security failures. 1803 look like it a very buggy update.

we need a option to allow us to update only after all bugs have been fixed. put me on the very very slow ring.

I did all that you suggest and 1803 failed and rolled back

I've read it could be drivers issues

looking on other site including this site look like 1803 is very buggy

on the pcs that did install I see wifi issues and audit failure and other errors

Microsoft need to do better testing rather than add more features quickly
