    Average time of booting windows 10 on hard drive.


    I wanted to know what is the average boot up and ready to use time of windows 10 via Hard drive. My windows 10 laptop takes 3.5 minutes to ready to use. Is it okay or something wrong with my device. I think it's taking too much. Fast boot is turned off. Hibernate is also off.


    Here are my laptop specs : -

    Intel i5 8th (8250U) gen,

    Hard drive 5400 rpm,

    8GB DDR4 ram.


    Here are my start up app list.

    I've already disable some of my unnecessary softwares.

    Have a similiar situation using a DiamondMax Plus 8, 20GB Mfg Date 4/15/03. Drive used as a second system drive. Drive is recognized in boot menu but not in drive list. Drive is always connected. Computer started locking up for several seconds at a time. Chkdsk on drives and couldn't find that drive. Removed drive from bay to make sure connections were ok and heard the beeping. Shutdown and restart and never got to windows screen. Restarted several times then saw drive in boot menu and Windows loaded but Maxtor not in drive menu. When recognized in boot menu, computer will start but beeps and is not found.

    Tried kicking it real hard but no improvement. Any suggestions?

    1) On which hard drive, you are trying to install Windows 10?

    2) What is the size of the drive, where you are trying to install Windows 10?

    I would suggest you to perform Check Disk on your hard drive and check if it helps.

    Follow the below steps:


    • Press Windows + X on your keyboard.

    • Select Command Prompt (Admin).

    • Type the below commands.



      Cskdsk [drive letter]: /f /r
