Windows 10: Azure app proxy

    Azure app proxy


    Hi,


    We are looking at implementing Azure app proxy and just trying to work out if it should be a priority or if we should postpone it to later, depending on if it will give us benefits now.


    Our current environment has about 7,000 windows devices enrolled into Intune as hybrid domain joined devices. We intend on moving these devices slowly over to Azure domain joined only over the next 1-2 years.


    Three questions:

    1 Do our devices need to be only Azure domain joined for Azure app proxy to work?

    2 Will Azure app proxy allow devices off campus to connect to on-prem network shares without the need for a VPN?

    3 Does Azure app proxy work for all types of apps, not just web based apps. E.g. we use SCCM on prem but need a VPN when trying to open the console off campus, if we install Azure app proxy on our SCCM server should the console open off campus without the need for VPN?

    Share this information to assist you better.

    • Which app are you referring to?
    • What is the make and model of the computer?
    • Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
    I suggest you to follow the steps and check for the issue.

    Disable proxy server settings:


    • Go to the Start Screen.

    • Press Windows+ I to view the
      Settings      .

    • Select Internet Options.

    • Click on Connection.

    • Click on LAN settings.

    • Uncheck all the listed items in the proxy and Auto Detect.

    • Save the Changes.

    • Restart your system.
    If the above steps does not help disable proxy manually.


    • Press Windows key + R, Type
      control       and click on OK.

    • Under Settings go to Network.

    • View connection settings.

    • Click on Network tab.

    • Proxy - turn
      off       proxy.
