Windows 10: Back up skipped files

    Back up skipped files


    Each time I run backup in W10, I get the same 2 error messages....Backup encountered a problem while backing up file.C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\OneDrive. Error. status_wait_2 0x80070002C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Pictures. Error. status_wait_2 0x80070002Should I be concerned?I do not use OneDrive, although I think it is connected to my Outlook setup.

    Hi Ken,

    For us to better isolate your concern, we need additional information. Kindly answer the following questions below:

    • Are your backing up files or creating a system image?
    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    In the meantime, we suggest deleting the backup you created and create a new one. Click this

    and follow the steps on how to create a backup.

    Replace or Skip file dialog box not appearing anymore, always paste as a copy if file exist

    Please be informed that you might have checked that option to replace or skip file dialogue box.

    I suggest you to restore the folder options and check if it helps.

    • Go to file explorer.
    • Click on View.
    • Click on options.
    • Then click on Restore default.

    Back up skipped files

    The Backup completed but some files were skipped

    Hi,

    Thank you for using Windows 10.

    We regret for the inconvenience. I would like to inform you that if you are trying to backup a file which is on the drive where the backup is being created, it will skip those files.

    You may check in libraries if your personal files which you have already uninstalled are present there. If it’s there, you may delete those files & try to run the backup again.

    You may also try the following steps and check if that helps:

    • Restore default storage locations on all folders (i.e. Pictures, Documents, Downloads, Favorites, Searches etc...)
    • Rename the folder in explorer to match the default folder.
    • Restore the default libraries and run the back up.
