    Hello

    Since the last update of Windows 10 Photos application i have the following problem:

    When i open a photo (by double clicking) the background is normal black as it should be, because i have selected the “Dark” Appearance mode in Photos app’s Settings. But when i open a second or third photo, without closing the first, the background turns into white. So 1st photo has black background and the 2nd, 3rd etc. have white!

    Probably the second photo takes the general setting from Windows Settigs/Personalization/Colours/Choose your default app mode and there is selected Light. But until now i didn’t faced this problem and i had the same Settings selected. No matter how many pictures i opened simultaneously, all of them had black background.

    Is there any solution?

    Change the background colour of Windows 10 Photo app?

    Right click on the image within the photo app, click open with, choose photo gallery and it should open with a white background. You can tick a box to make the photo gallery the default option. (Photo gallery and photo seem to be two different apps).

    Not sure why this changed in Windows 10, XP, 7 and 8 always use to open in the photo gallery for me.

    Change the background colour of Windows 10 Photo app?

    When viewing some transparency images (png,gif) the black background of Win10 Photo App, can obscure black text and black shapes.

    Presumably these would be seen, if the photo app background was white or a light neutral colour, but I can see no way to change the black background of this app and this is very frustrating as these images do not display properly.

    Is it possible to fix this background to view such transparency images properly?
