Windows 10: backing up computer

I understand backing up will save files pictures music etc. My question is I have purchased software onlinemeaning I have no physical Cd or DVD to use for reinstall should computer fail, will these type of files also be saved when I back up computer to external hard drive.

the software I am worried about is movie editing type software. I have two or three. I'm a novice at this but I realize the need to back up.

If want to disable IE, still can. However, can't uninstall it like were able to in XP/98/whatever.
Here's how, although I find it useful in case Chrome or Firefox stops working and have to re-download it. *Wink
1. Search for turn windows features on or off and click it in the search results.

2. When the app opens, uncheck Internet Explorer 11.

3. Click Yes on the warning dialog.

4. Click OK.

5. Restart for the changes to finish.

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it
