Windows 10: Backing up Win 10 Insider to server 2016 Essentials

I have recently built a Server 2016 machine to replace a Linux server as a Home Server.


One of my machines is a dual boot Win 10 / Win 10 Insider machine.


The Win 10 installation backs up to the Server with no problems. However the Insider system will not back up. It fails the backup after a few seconds of starting.


I have tried re-installing the Insider system with two different builds and I get the same results.


My first question is does anybody know where the Backup Log is on the server?


My second question is, is it even possible to backup an Insider build?


Any help would be gratefully received.

Windows Server 2016 Essentials upgrade to Windows Server 2016 Standard

I had an OEM version of Windows Server 2016 Essentials installed.

I wanted to use Remote Desktop for 3 users, which essentials cant do.

I have installed an evaualtion of Windows Server 2016 Standard, and have got 3 users remote connecting to the server to run an accounting application.

Thats fine, i have purchased 3 cals for Windows Remote Desktop Services.

My question.

Can i upgrade from 2016 Essentials (which i bought) to Windows Server 2016 Standard, or do i have to buy a new Server 2016 license?
