    Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Dropbox. ErrorBackup encountered a problem while backing up file in windows 10 :(STATUS_WAIT_2 (0x80070002))


    i read the forums but have not seen Microsoft resolve this problem in any of the latest updates since 2018.


    i have reset my PC and this file 'problem' first came to light after i installed Dropbox into 'C' drive, uninstalled it then, reinstalled it in 'D' drive - my 1TB partitioned/spare hard drive.

    i have tried to allocate only the drives and folders i require to save in back up, but this problem still exits in 'C' drive.

    I have searched through 'C' drive to find the offending folder and deleted a few, without going in too deep to affect the process of running my Dropbox.


    Has Microsoft resolved this issue to date.

    Windows Backup resulted in this error message:

    'Windows backup message: Backup encountered a problem while backing up. file C:\Windows\System32\config\System 32\config\System profile\Videos. Error: (STATUS_WAIT_2 (0x80070002)'

    Original Title: W7 Back-Up on W10

    I was backing up Windows 10 with Windows 7 backup for months. A couple months ago I started getting errors with the following message:

    Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Pictures. ErrorBackup encountered a problem while backing up file in windows 10 :(The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002))

    Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Pictures\Saved Pictures. ErrorBackup encountered a problem while backing up file in windows 10 :(The system cannot find the path specified. (0x80070003))

    I can't find a systemprofile folder in system32 or anywhere else. As I said it did work without errors for 8 or nine months.
