    Backup on W10 skips file

Windows backup always skips 2 files : G:\username\MUSIC and says that it is already on the target drive. This after even reformatting that drive! (on windows 10). Also, a second error involving the file E:\username\MUSIC appears simultaneously, with the statement that the drive E is not available (because I changed the hardware configuration earlier). The error message says, "the backup did not complete successfully" with option to view skipped files. I can't get rid of either file even by reformatting my 2TB backup drive! Anyone have a similar problem?

Could this be related to a missetup of the EFI partitions? If so, can I reinitialize them and how?

When I view the skipped files, I read
Backup skipped backing up G:\MILTONJ\Music as it is on the backup target.
Windows Backup skipped E:\MILTONJ\Music because it is on drive E:\, which is not a supported drive type.

    (E:\ is now a 16GB thumb drive)
And these two paths do not exist on my C:\ drive that I'm backing up!

PS: I recently used the free upgrade from Win 8.1 to Win 10.

    :)

    Backup Files Skipped

I can't get past it saying, "You must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility."

I tried typing in cmd and right clicking, but the popup does not give me an option to click Run as Administrator.

    What next?

    Backup Files Skipped

I am backing up my Windows 10 desktop in its entirety every day to a Seagate external drive. I routinely getting an error message pertaining to skipped files. I followed the paths of these files and was able to delete two of the three.

When I follow the path of the remaining skipped file it doesn't exist. This is the error message:

Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Pictures. ErrorBackup on W10 skips file :(The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002))

I follow all the way to systemprofile. When I open that folder up there is AppData and something called NtUser.dat. There is no file called Pictures. Naturally my pictures is located with documents where it should be. How do I get rid of this "phantom"
file so I don't receive the error message anymore?

    Backup on W10 skips file

Duh, I was using the default backup criteria; ie, back up personal data and user libraries. I changed the option to backup C:\ only and...problem solved. Thanks to y'all who took the time to look at me.
