Windows 10: Backup on Windows 10, restore on Windows 11

So let's say I have a Windows 10 computer and my login name is "Ed". I want to backup up my data and restore on a new Windows 11 computer. My account on the new computer is "EdwardB999" [taken from my Hotmail/Microsoft account.If I restore the backup, it dumps everything into c:\users\ed and not c:\users\edwardb999.If I change the location, it dumps everything into c:\users\edwardb999\c\users\ed.So how do I restore into the new account?Is there another way?Ed

I suggest creating a backup image of your os drive

 

installing windows 10 backup and restore later

1. Backup Vista
2. Upgrade Vista->Windows 7 -> Windows 10. Get activated.
3. Backup Windows 10.
4. Clean Install Windows 10. Make sure still activated
5. Backup a fresh copy of Windows 10
6. Restore

To perform step 4 i will need to have downloaded an iso and create a dvd or usb to boot from.....so will not this ISO be ok and the one you mention ?
