    Backup runs System restore instead


    Using Win Backup & System Restore Windows 7 option in Win 10.


    When I click on "Backup now" a System Restore runs instead. Takes hours and tells me my computer has been restored to an earlier state.

    Tried this twice with the same result.


    However the Backup appears to have run.


    Any ideas what is going wrong.

    Free hard drive backup/restore program?

    I am looking for a free (freeware) program that will back up and restore a hard drive. I'm looking to clone a few external hard drives. If the program will backup the used space instead of the whole drive this will be awesome! Thanks for any suggestions.

    Obviously you're looking for something besides your Xp Pro utility that does this?

    System Restore & Backup For Windows10

    What I mean is that in Windows7 there is a facility for auto-backup at certain dates (especially when Windows performs an update) from where one can restore the system to an earlier and trouble free state.

    I noticed that there is no such auto system in Windows10.
