Windows 10: Backup Start Menu layout

I do not know where to ask this question as none of the little drop down boxes has anything to do with the Start Menu.


Question: Is there is any way to backup my start menu on my main Windows 10 computer so that I can use it on my other windows 10 machines. My main computer menu is customized with all my programs and such, and it would be a lot easier and faster if I could just use it on all my machines.


Any productive answers would be appreciated.


The question that I have asked is simple and straight forward, so anyone should be able to understand what I am asking.


Please do not answer with a question as that is not an answer, and as such will be ignored.

How to backup Windows 10 start menu layout?

I have 3 Windows 10 devices and I wanna backup and import start menu layout on each device as Windows 10 isn't supporting layout syncing.

Most of the solutions I've found are for Windows 8 only.

One site showed me a way to export the layout by using this command:

but nothing about how to import it!

I tried steps mentioned in this article and both of them shows me this error

How to backup Windows 10 start menu layout?

From this link: Backup and Restore Start Layout in Windows 10

1. Back up registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\CloudStore\Store\Cache\DefaultAccount
   
2. Back up file %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\DefaultLayouts.xml
   

To restore:

1. (Mess with registry at your own risk) Delete registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\CloudStore\Store\Cache\DefaultAccount (you cannot omit this step)
   
2. Merge registry key backed up in steps above.
   
3. Restore DefaultLayouts.xml file backed up in above steps, overwriting current %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\DefaultLayouts.xml
   
4. Sign out of Windows and sign back in again.

FYI, Here's a little portable program ( <1MB) is doing just that with nice interface. You can save/restore multiple versions of the start menu, reset to original as fresh install.
