Windows 10: Bad Microsoft Media Feature Pack(KB3010081) installation for Windows 10 N

Would like to reopen this topic and post the solution .. for uninstalling the wrong kb with the good one

Win10 N Will not install Media pack

I am using windows 10N Insider preview and The media pack will not install. I have tried the following:

• Media Feature Pack list for Windows N editions
• Media Feature Pack for N and KN editions of Windows 10 Version 1508 - KB3010081
• Media Feature Pack for N and KN editions of Windows 10 Version 1511 - KB3010081
• Media Feature Pack for N editions of Windows 10 Version 1607 - KB3133719
• Media Feature Pack for N edition of Windows 10 Version 1703 - KB4016817
• Media Feature Pack for N edition of Windows 10 Version 1709 - KB4039813

The only one to install was the very first one. However Media player is not installed, there are no media player folders. I can add the app.

Every other version say the update is not applicable to your system. Not sure how
that's even possible. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times and nothing. No media player. Should I just assume that it does not work and will never be fixed or is there some magic that I
don't know about to get this thing working and installed correctly?

media feature pack not working

I have the same problem. When I try to install KB 3099229, I get "Feature Pack for Windows (KB3010081) is already installed on this computer".

I followed your steps above, but KB3010081 is not listed under "Installed Updates".

(Problem appeared after I upgraded from Win 7 N x64 (with Media Pack installed) to Win 10.)

 

Windows N won't install Media Feature Pack


Hi All

I am trying to install the windows media features pack (x64) from the following link - Download Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10 from Official Microsoft Download Center.

The issue I am having is when I run the installation file I am getting the following error message -



Feature pack for Windows (KB3010081) is already installed on this computer.

I don't have the the media pack on the PC so I am wondering if this is a issue.

My question is would anyone be able to assist me in getting the feature pack on the PC as I am unsure about removing updates.
