As long as you can boot to windows and find the USB iso file you should be good for the in place upgrade repair.

bad problem while upgrade to new build

    Error 0x8007025D - 0x2000C

Occurs if the specified buffer contains ill-formed data.
To fix the issue, re-download Windows 10 ISO image and install it again.

So far many web links have performed clean installs.

The logs can be viewed to find more information or perform a clean install.

For troubleshooting before generating the logs:

    1) run the control panel windows update troubleshooter
    2) open administrative command prompt and reset the windows update components with these commands.
(copy and paste all at the same time)

    Net stop bits
    Net stop wuauserv
    Net stop appidsvc
    Net stop cryptsvc
    Del %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat /Q
    Del "%HOMEDRIVE%\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat" /Q
    Del %WINDIR%\SoftwareDistribution\*.* /s /Q
    Net start bits
    Net start wuauserv
    Net start appidsvc
    Net start cryptsvc

    Then perform windows updates.

If they work then attempt the in place upgrade with the iso.

If windows updates does not work then open administrative power shell and type or copy and paste this command: Get-WindowsUpdateLog

It will take approximately 5 minutes and produce a text file on the desktop. Use onedrive to create a share link and post in the thread.

    Rerun sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Then find the CBS and the DISM log files and create share links for each.

And in administrative command prompt or administrative power shell type or copy and paste this panther command:

    C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther

It will generate a Panther folder with hidden files. You may need to use file explorer hide or unhide menu to view them.

Find these files and post a share link for each:

    setuperr.log
    setupact.log

The log viewing is a lot of work.
If you have files backed up the most efficient and effective method is the windows 10 clean install.

See the sections in blue and pink: Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials
Maybe another member of the forum may have used windowsold.wim. This is the information that I was able to find: How to Restore Your Files From the Windows.old Folder After Upgrading

For in place upgrade or in place repair:
    1) Power on
    2) open files explorer > this pc
    3) click on the USB drive with the windows 10 iso
    4) click on the setup file
    5) it will display preparing with %
    6) for updates > not right now
    7) accept license
    8) it will display making sure you have enough space
    9) ready to install > keep files
    10) click install

If you post the logs I could check to see what may be interfering with the upgrade repair.

Some have used Macrium to back up and restore a drive.

Another method that sometimes may work is a registry repair.

The clean install with diskpart clean or deleting partitions and making an unallocated drive is another option if the above fail.

    Are your files backed up?
If you had to do a clean install would that work?
Some forum members use Macrium on a regular basis and can restore drives.
See Use Macrium Reflect Rescue Media to Fix Windows Boot Issues
If you want to attempt registry back up repair that can be done booting to the windows 10 iso. You would need to know the F key to boot to a device or change the boot order. The when you have booted to the iso you can attempt a registry repair.

That is the registry backup that I had commented on in the earlier post. In you situation I would be surprised if it works but its worth a shot.

This is the registry backup method:

    1) boot to the Windows 10 iso
    2) it may take 5 minutes displaying the windows icon
    3) Use the default settings for language, time, currency, and keyboard
    4) click next
    5) In the left lower corner click Repair your computer
    6) click troubleshooting
    7) click startup repair (it is expected to fail)
    8) click system restore (it is expected to fail)
    9) click command prompt
You should see a pop up with title bar: Administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
This is the registry backup method:
For each step you must see sizeable file sizes for this to work.
If you see zeros the method will fail.
    The command: dir
will be used each step to make sure you are in the proper location and check the size of the files
    10) type: C:
    11) dir
    12) type: D:
    13) dir
Choose the C: or the D: drive to proceed. It should be the windows drive and not the USB drive.
For this post I will use C: however you should pick the drive letter that you found that has the windows files on your computer.
The proper drive will display: perflogs, program files, program files (x86), users, windows, etc
    14) type or copy and paste: cd \windows\system32\config
    It should display: C:\windows\system32\config>
    15) type: dir
It should display: bbi, bcd-template, components, default, drivers, elam, sam, security, software, system, vsmidk, journal, regback, systemprofile txr, etc.
All of the file sizes should be sizeable. If it displays zeros then abort.
Make a new directory and name it backup or something similar.
    16) type: MD backup
Copy all of the files into this new directory.
    17) type or copy and paste: copy *.* backup
It should now display: bbi, bcd-template, components, default, drivers, elam, sam, security, software, system, vsmidk indicating the files were copied.
    Change the directory to regback
    18) type: cd regback
    It should now display: c:\windows\system32\config\regback>
    19)type: dir
It should display: default, sam, security, software, system etc
All of these files must be sizeable. If it displays zeros then abort.
    20) type or copy and paste: copy *.* ..
    It should now display:
    DEFAULT
    Overwrite ..\default? (yes/no/all):
    21) type: a
It should now display: sam, security, software, system and that the files were copied.
    22) type: exit
    23) click turn off your PC
Remove the USB flash drive if you had changed your boot order. Otherwise you can leave it and power on your computer.
