Windows 10: Basic Display Adapter Issue

I have a problem with my newly upgraded old laptop to windows 10 pro. The display is not good, the video is fragmented and sometimes freezing. I have checked all the drivers in the device manager and updated all but still no changes. In the display adapter the driver is named "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" I checked the properties. the driver version is 10.0.17134.1 , the release date is 21/06/2006 the driver provider is Microsoft. How can I update this driver? I've searched for this driver named "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" but I never found. Is there an alternative for this driver? Anyway this is a "Clean Install" of Windows 10 pro. Can anybody help me? Thank you.

No Display after Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

Hi,

As you are facing issues with changing the brightness on your device, do not worry we will help you with this issue.

Provide us additional information to assist you better:

• What is the make and model of your computer?
• What exactly happens when you try to change the brightness on your device?

Make sure that you are able to access the display on your device to follow the below troubleshooting step.

I suggest you to download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website, place the computer in Safe mode with Networking, uninstall the existing drivers, re-install the new drivers manually and check if it helps.

Step 1: Boot the device to Safe mode and uninstall the existing drivers and restart the computer.

Step 2: Steps to Uninstall the Display Adapter driver.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right click on the Display Adapter and click on
  Uninstall.

10, try to install the drivers in compatibility mode.

Step 3: Follow the below steps to
place the computer in normal mode.

• Press Windows + R keys to open
  Run command.
• Type msconfig and press
  Enter.
• In the System Configuration window, click on
  General tab.
• Select Start-up selection as
  Normal startup, click on Apply
  and Ok.
• Follow onscreen instructions.

Basic Display Adapter

I have a problem in which ProPresenter 5 won't play videos, I've contacted that company and came up empty handed.

In the DxDiag Box, it shows that I have the Basic Display Adapter running in Display 1, but Display 2 & 3 are using the Geforce GTX I have installed. Would it help to change the Basic Display Adapter to the Geforce card in Display 1?

If so how would I change that?

This problem wasn't a issue when I changed to Windows 10.
