Windows 10: Battery and Location Icon in Notification Area missing - Win 10 Pro.

I tried so many things to get my battery icon back (power option was greyed out) and this one FINALLY worked for me.

I did not post the original question, but had the same problem and was having trouble finding a solution. Your suggestion worked in my case, so thank you!

 

I've tried all solutions provided but non worked. I cannot find 'Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery' in the Deveide Manager only "AC Adapter". Please help. I've searching for a solutoin for weeks now

 

I've had this similar issue for quite some time, and while trying the other options works for some, none of them worked for me.

• Restarting Explorer.exe didn't work
• Deleting the Icon Stream registry keys didn't help
• Going into Device manager and disabling and re-enabling the battery listings did nothing
• Uninstalling and reinstalling the battery listings did nothing (including the scan for hardware changes)
• gpedit.msc isn't an option if you're using Windows 10 Home
• Updating BIOS is a little overkill for a simple problem

So what to do? I'm sure this is quite frustrating when you want your icons back in the system tray notification area but all other options fail. God only knows why Microsoft chose not to allow gpedit in the Home edition, but this likely would have made life really easy in this case.
Luckily, there is an option that hasn't been discussed here, and for me it worked like a charm - even when rebooting the computer. Essentially, it seems like somewhere in the registry, Windows has decided that this particular icon was hard disabled. Now whether that is because you've previously disabled it for some reason manually (messing with registry tweaks) or because Windows is simply trolling you is up for debate. What I can say is that the following registry tweak worked like a charm for me, restoring all of my system tray icons ability.
RestoreMyTrayIconsPlease.reg
Essentially, you just grab this little registry tweak, double click it and allow it to add the information to your registry. Then, when you go back into the toolbar settings, you'll see that Power is no longer greyed out and you can enable it again. No reboot or log-out required (at least I didn't need to).
