Windows 10: Battery Drain

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 530S.


I have had it for a few years now.


I have my account, which has admin rights and the account works normally: Unplug the battery and it works for a couple hours.


I just created an account for my girlfriend and without installing any new apps or anything, after a few minutes of running under battery power, the laptop comes up with a windows prompt saying 'Locking' or something, and then the battery dies. And we have to plug the charger in to turn it on, at which point the battery level indicates it is at 0% and charging.


On my account the battery behaves like normal, but on hers, with nothing extra installed or changed from default, it doesnt last past 10minutes without the charger plugged in.


Very weird and cant find any solutions online - I dont even know what to search to find one!

Battery drains while on sleep mode.


even mine has a slow battery drain, using Win 8.1. Even when powered off, not in sleep or hibernate, but off. It still uses the battery to keep the clock going.
Turn off fast start, as suggested, hibernate over sleep as it uses less power, and if you aren't going to use it for several hours, shut it off.
